1962 Ford Galaxie 500 Sunliner-Convertible with 54,500 original miles.
V-8, Power Steering, Automatic Transmission, Disc Brakes, Power Top.
I am the third owner of this original auto.
The 352 V8 engine and the transmission have always worked well.
The only improvements have been a new white ragtop, body repainted, 352 engine refurbished, dual brakes added, heavy-duty rear shocks, seat belts installed, and radial tires.
Even has the original rear-tire chrome panels, hubcaps, red vinyl ragtop-cover for parades, dual spotlight/mirrors, and jack ! The classic auto also looks great with nice lines.
The new style was introduced in 1961 to reflect the new Space Age hence the name Galaxie 500.
POSITIVES include:
white ragtop 1994, body repainted circa 1980, 352 engine refurbished with seals/mounts/gaskets and plugs/wires/fuelpump 2015, dual brakes installed 2015, carburetor 2003, new manifold gaskets and bolts 2019, only light rust in one small spot -see photo, good tires with only 6,000 miles, maintenance cost of $6,745 over 31 years and records are available.
NEGATIVES:
Front seat separated on drivers side, small rear hood dent, transmission leaks one quart of fluid over the winter storage (trani works well).
