AIR TRAFFIC CONTROL SPECIALIST (TERMINAL)

As an AIR TRAFFIC CONTROL SPECIALIST (TERMINAL), GS-2152-11, you will perform air traffic control duties in the control tower and radar facility. Operate, train, and provide preventative maintenance on a host of automated communications and display hardware and software systems that are integral and vital to the operation of the air traffic control facility. Conduct and direct aircraft mishap and hazardous air traffic systems reporting. Provide comprehensive on-the-job training for Air Force and Air National Guard personnel in accordance with Air Force, Air National Guard, FAA, and local policies and directives. Contact civilian or military individuals or groups from inside and outside the employing agency in a variety of functions, as well as technical personnel employed by contractors and state ANG officials. You will work under general supervision and will be responsible for carrying out assigned ATC duties in accordance with DoD, USAF, FAA, and local directives. Experience:
Application must indicate at least 36 months experience in a military or civilian air traffic facility that demonstrated possession of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform the level of work of the specialization for which application is made. This experience must have provided a comprehensive knowledge of appropriate air traffic control laws, rules, and regulations KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND COMPETENCIES:
Applicants who meet the eligibility requirements will be further evaluated by the nominating supervisor based on the following competencies considered essential to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position. - Ability to provide assistance to both experienced professional and inexperienced student pilots within the airspace and ensures expeditious traffic flows are maintained. - Knowledge to determine when backup or alternate communications are required. - Knowledge of air traffic control procedures. - Ability to provide hands-on training to trainee personnel using automated or formal classroom instructions. - Knowledge in selecting appropriate techniques for accomplishing required assignments and interpreting regulations and policy documents to meet ANG mission objects. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
