Summary:
Under the direction of the pharmacist and operating by approved workflow protocol, the pharmacy technician/customer service representative assists the pharmacist to accurately, safely, and confidentially provide medicinal products to customers in a retail setting.
To succeed in this role you must:

Interacting with customers at the counter, at the register, on the phone, at the drive-thru (where applicable), and on the sales floor, and ? Obtaining and neatly recording information relative to each customer's prescription order, and ? Finding the right medication or item in inventory, and ? Counting or measuring accurately, and ? Filling and labeling prescription containers and bags, and ? Using various computer screens to aid in customer service and sales, prescription fulfillment, and inventory assessment, and ? Answering questions that do not require the pharmacist's expertise, and ? Understanding and following laws, policies, and practices relative to the protection and privacy of each customer and their information as well as that of Martella's Pharmacy.
This job requires standing 100% of the time.
The pharmacy technician/customer service representative must also be able to:
Attentively listen, and Approach and assist customers, and Communicate with business professionalism to customers, vendors, and medical representatives on the phone or in person, and Reach, bend, and crouch, and Initiate action to resolve or prevent concerns related to cleanliness, safety, or security, and Place labels on individual medicine containers or retail merchandise, and Use calculators, computers, point-of-sale registers, and scanners The lists above are representative, but not exhaustive, regarding expectations of attitudes, behaviors, knowledge, and skills for job success.

The pharmacy technician/customer service representative job requires at least a high school diploma or equivalent.
Additional education in pharmacy or medical programs may be helpful but is not required.
The starting hourly rate is considered competitive.
Retail pharmacy technicians with at least one full year of job success will be offered a rate at mid-range or higher.
Determination of the success of prior relevant experience is based on information from professional reference checks.
Any offer of employment is conditional pending the receipt of all required paperwork and review of the results of background checks, drug test, and, as necessary, job-specific information collection.
All results must be received and reviewed by the human resources department prior to one's first day of work.
Initial on-the-job training may be scheduled at a location other than one's assigned worksite.
This first phase of training may last several weeks.
