Must be mechanically inclined and experienced with the use of miscellaneous hand tools and power equipment.
Requires a variety of physical abilities:
climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, etc.
Ability to exert up to 100 pounds of force and to lift 100 pounds.
Ability to work in extreme conditions:
heat, cold, noise, fumes, odors, dusts, gases, confined spaces (including pipeline tunnels), etc.
Reporting Relationship This position reports directly to the CSA Assistant Operations Manager or, in the absence of the AOM, then directly to the FA-II.
Major Accountabilities and Responsibilities of the CSA Field Assistant-I Responsible for assisting the FA-II in maintaining CSA property, structures, recreation facilities, rights of ways/easements including but not limited to:
Weed control, grass cutting, valves, blow-offs, manholes, meters, maintenance, and repairs.
Assist the FA-II in the maintenance and repair of all CSA vehicles, power equipment, skid steer, mowers, Steiners, and tools.
Assist the FA II in the safety of the Authority property by removing dead/fallen trees, remove garbage, snow plowing, and grass cutting.
Perform any other duties as assigned by CSA management, AOM, or FA-II.
Set up traffic control devices and provide traffic control.
Read and complete PA One Call tickets and properly mark out CSA water lines.
Be available 24/7 for emergency conditions.
PADEP Class E water operator certificate is a plus.
Job Requirements General understanding of water system operations, maintenance and repair.
Ability to operate SCADA System or ability to learn.
Ability to use, or ability to learn, Microsoft Office software, mainly Excel, Word and Outlook.
Highly motivated and a self-starter.
Ability to operate, or to learn to operate, snowplow, lawn mowers, weed whackers, chain saw, gas detector, mechanized tools and equipment, manual transmissions, skid steer, Steiners, crane, etc.
